Charles H. "Charlie" Hartbarger, age 82, of Toledo, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2013. Charlie was born on November 20, 1930 to Clyde and Sarah (Hales) Hartbarger in Calhoun, Georgia. He served in the U.S. Army National Guard Unit, was a Millwright for General Motors where he retired from; a 50 year member of the Rubicon Masonic Lodge #237, Waterville, A.A.S.R. and the Zenobia Shriners. Charlie was a hardworking man who loved to lend a hand when needed. After retirement, Charlie was busy with his lawn and garden; very proud of what he grew. He also loved to fish. He was strong and proud…he was our rock. We love you Daddy.
Left to cherish Charlie's memory are his loving wife of 61 years, Eleanor Hartbarger; son, Eric (Debbie); daughter, Licia Willis; 7 grandchildren; sister, Virginia Arnold; brother, Earl; sister-in-law, Amelia; and brother-in-law, Cecil Duncan. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, James; son-in-law, Tony Willis; brother, Glenn; and sister, Marzel.
The family will receive guests on Friday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900) with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Heritage Church of God, 3520 Strayer Rd., Maumee with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.
The family would like to thank God for the gift of time. Also, Pastor Fry and his wife, Terry; Dan and Judy Koechel; Pam and Rory Hartbarger; and to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Advance Specialty Hospital for all of their love and support given to Charlie and his family through this difficult time.
