Charles G. Williams, 84, passed away on December 1, 2013. He was born on March 31, 1929 to the late Irene and Charles J. Williams in Toledo, Ohio.
Charlie was a proud Army veteran and served in the Korean War. He was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Parish since its opening in 1955. Charlie worked at St. Pat's for 38 years as a Maintenance Man. He loved to spend time with his family and always put them first. Charlie enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, camping, horseback riding.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his siblings, Victor, Jack, June Smith, Irene Learned and Rosemary Reville. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of almost 53 years, Liz; children, Lorna (Paul Auler) Williams, Nick (Kim) Williams, Shannon Williams, Nathan (Brooke) Williams and Melissa Farlow; grandchildren, Nicholas, Brendan, Anthony, Ronin, Bryce, Kyle, Shane, Tim, Kelley and Taylor; great-grandchildren, Lillian and Degan.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday from 4-8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). A Rosary Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday evening. The Funeral Mass will be held on Friday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Parish, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Maumee.
Charlie's Family would like to give a special thank you to the caring staff at Gentiva Hospice, especially Deb, Shannon and Tiffany. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to Gentiva Hospice.
He will be forever missed, loved and always in our hearts.
