Charles J. Fairbairn

December 7, 1929 — April 11, 2017

Charles J. Fairbairn, age 87, of Point Place, Ohio, passed away on April 11, 2017 at The Lakes of Monclova. He was born on December 7, 1929 in Dearborn, Michigan.

Chuck was a graduate of Central Catholic High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served during the Korean War. Chuck was a football and baseball coach for Immaculate Conception School. He loved being with his family and enjoyed playing the harmonica.

Surviving are his children, Steven Fairbairn, Mary (Ron) May, Diane Steele, Ann (John) Corfman; 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren; his oldest brother, Tom and many nieces and nephews. Chuck was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Theresa; sister, Elizabeth Young and brother, Robert.

A special thanks to the staff of The Lakes of Monclova and Hospice of NWO for the care given to Chuck and his family.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, April 18, 2017 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Rosary service will begin at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. at St. Patrick of Heatherdowns Parish, 4201 Heatherdowns Blvd. Prayers will begin in the Funeral Home at 12:30 p.m. Burial will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
