Charles E. Conine

Charles E. "Charlie" Conine, age 83, of Maumee, passed away peacefully Wednesday, November 14, 2018 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg surrounded by his loving family. He was born November 18, 1934 to Arthur and Lucille (Smith) Conine in Bloomdale, Ohio, the 2nd oldest of 10 children. Charlie was a foreman at several area companies, including AP Parts and Progressive Metal Forming. In his younger years he was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. In Charlie's later years he was a handyman and general "Jack of all trades" who would do anything for anyone. He loved to watch The Ohio State Buckeyes. Charlie will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his great-grandaughter, Lyra Lefevre; and siblings, Joyce, Carl, Gerald, and Elva. Charlie is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, JoAnn Conine; children, Michael Conine, Catherine (Jeff) Lefevre and Lisa Conine; grandchildren, Jeff, Jared (Amelia), and Jordan (Leslie) Lefevre, and Caitlin (Thomas) Hertzfeld ; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers, Ivan, Donald Conine; sisters, Barbara Roller, Bertha Holloway and Georgia Sheppard; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Monday, November 19, 2018 from 10 – 11:00 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc, 5856 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, OH 43614 with a Memorial Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m. in church. Newcomer – Southwest Chapel (419-381-1900) assisted the family with professional services.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
