Charles, "Charlie" O. Walker, 81, passed away on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 after a strong fight against cancer. Charlie was born on September 27th, 1939 in Somerset, NY, to his parents (late) William and Gertrude Walker.
Charlie proudly served our country in the US Navy, during which time he met the love of his life, Judith Kasch in Times Square. He and Judy lived as an example of unconditional love for 61 years. Charlie worked as bricklayer by trade for 50 years, He ran his own company, Walker and Son and trained and mentored many others before retiring.Over the years, Charlie helped in the production of hundreds of homes and even earned an masonry institute award for one the fireplaces he crafted. Later he worked at Brondes Ford in Maumee. Charlie enjoyed bowling, (had a 298 game), woodworking, and loved to travel. However, Charlie's favorite hobby was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a devout Lutheran and a proud member of Trinity Lutheran Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 61 years, Judith Walker; his children, late Charles "Skip" (Lisa) Walker, Christopher (Brenda) Walker, Wendy Blankley, and Chawn (Jodi) Walker; his 21 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; his brother Edward (Barbara) Walker; and numerous nieces and nephews. Charlie was preceded in death by his son Skip Walker, his grandson Alex Walker, and his siblings, Irene, Dave, William (Bill) and Phyllis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Trinity Lutheran School.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.
