Charles "Chuck" E. Champion, age 75, resident of Lambertville, Michigan, passed away on Friday, January 14, 2022, at the Toledo Hospital, surrounded by his family. He was born on September 18, 1946, in Toledo, Ohio, to the late A. Scott and Marie (Sedlar) Champion.
Chuck graduated from Rossford High School, class of 1965, and furthered his education at the University of Toledo. Chuck enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren, swimming, being outdoors, taking walks, riding his bicycle, working on his tablet, watching TV, and going out to eat. Most of all, Chuck cherished his family and the memories that they shared. He will truly be missed by all who loved him.
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving wife, Sue (Hower) Champion, whom he married on Janaury 24, 1969; children, Carla Champion, daughter-in-law, Jodi Gaertner-Champion, Cristi (Nick) Smith, Cara Champion, Crystal (Dave) Stanfa, Cayla Champion, and Cory Champion; and grandchildren, Dylan, Jagger, Abigail, Isabella, Brianna, Hannah.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by his sons, Cleet and Cody Champion; and his brother, Scott Champion.
Family and friends may gather at Crossroads Community Church, 6960 Sylvania Petersburg Road, Ottawa Lake, Michigan 49267 on Friday, January 21, 2022, from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Monroe County ISD Educational Center, 1101 S. Raisinville Road, Monroe, Michigan 48161, to honor Chuck's commitment to infants and children, in the foster care system, as well as those with disabilities.
