Charles "Chuck" Eugene Block, age 81, of Toledo, Ohio, passed away peacefully April 11, 2024, at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, surrounded by his loving family, after a 5-year struggle with Pancreatic Cancer. Charles was born April 11, 1943, in Toledo, Ohio to the late Edward and Agnes (Brainard) Block.
Chuck attended Maumee High School and lived there until his marriage in 1962. After marrying Anna, they moved to Toledo and started their family. A very dedicated husband, father, and grandfather, his family was his everything.
He worked at Jeep and then pursued a career in manufacturing working at Conforming Matrix until 1969, when he co-founded Met-L-Tec Inc. and was a prominent business man in the community, until his retirement in 2010.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, making trips with his friends out West and to Alaska, New Mexico, Montana, and Wyoming, with much success! He also enjoyed traveling out West and to Alaska with his loving wife. Known as the "Chief" at their family cottage for bringing about the colorful campfire for the kids.
Those left to forever cherish his memory are his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Anna (James) Block; children, Carrie Miller, Chris (Jenni) Block, and Craig (Rachael) Block; grandchildren, Jordan (Tylar), Caitlyn (Serjen), Danielle, Gabriel, and Liam; great grandchild, Quinn; sister, Evelyn Tomaszewski; beloved sister-in-law, Rosemary Kasparian; many very loving nieces and nephews whom he loved very much; and many beloved friends.
In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by brothers, Edward and Pete Block.
The family would like to thank everyone at Hickman Center for all the care they gave to Chuck and his family over the years. Also, to Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the care in his final days.
There will be a private family service held.
