Charles Berning
June 11, 1943 — December 14, 2015
Charles "Chuck" Berning, age 72, gave up his fight with cancer on December 14, 2015. He was born on June 11, 1943 to the late Virginia and Herman "Reed" Berning in Toledo, Ohio.
Chuck was a 1961 graduate of Perrysburg High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for four years. Chuck retired from Owens-Illinois after 25 years as a System Analyst. He also retired from Securitas where he worked as a Security Guard at DANA Corp. Chuck enjoyed riding motorcycles, travelling and collecting and shooting guns. Chuck and his wife, Linda, loved spending time at Eagle Lake with their friends. He never missed any of his grandchildren's school or sporting events.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 45 years, Linda; children, Christina (Mike) Hernandez and Bethany (Danny) Chapman; grandchildren, Brittney Berning-Hernandez, Taylor Hernandez, Katelyn, Madalyn, Ashlyn, Collin and Dylan Chapman. Chuck was preceded in death by his brother, John S. Berning.
The Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Epiphany Lutheran Church, 915 N. Reynolds Rd., Toledo, OH 43615.
