Charles A. Conti

Charles A. Conti, age 96, went to be with the Lord on May 25, 2013. He was born January 14, 1917 in Falcnor, New York to the late Lawrence and Mary Conti.

Charlie married Lillie Arcadapane on August 29, 1937. They moved to Toledo and with his brothers, Joe and Russell, opened a bar and restaurant, "Club Conti." Charlie tended the bar while Lillie, Jane and Angie did all the authentic Italian cooking. After Club Conti closed, Charlie worked as a bartender at many different establishments. He also carried on the tradition of the "Diamond Pin Club."

In addition to his parents and wife of 75 years Cologera "Lillie", Charlie was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Dennis and his brothers, Samuel, Russell, Joseph and John. Left to cherish his memory is his loving sons, Donald (Emma) and Dennis (Kathryn); five grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.

The family will receive guests Wednesday, May 29, 2013 from 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 West Laskey Road, Toledo, (419-473-0300). A Scripture Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 4555 North Haven, Toledo (meet directly at the church).
