Charlene Marie Warrener, 73, passed away peacefully at her home on April 4, 2014. She was born on January 30, 1941 to the late Sophia and Herman LaPointe in Toledo, Ohio.
Char attended Bedford High School and graduated from DeVilbiss High School in 1959. She married Larry Warrener in 1965 and they had three loving daughters together. Char worked as a Switchboard Operator at Ohio Bell for several years. She retired from McNaughton-McKay after many loyal years as their "friendly voice." Char loved to cook for her family and was especially known for her cheesecake, potato salad, mashed potatoes and home-made mac n cheese. She also loved to host holiday meals for her family and always made sure no one left the table hungry. Char enjoyed sewing, especially outfits and costumes for her grandchildren. She liked bird-watching, gardening and caring for her cats.
In addition to her parents, Char was preceded in death by her in-laws and her dear cousin, Elaine. Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kelly (Scott) Stevens, Jennifer (Kris Jagodzinski) Dixon and Patricia (Ron) Eaton; siblings, Gloria Campbell, Larry (Marlene) LaPointe and Robert LaPointe; grandchildren, Jessica, Victoria, Caleb, Dylan, Joshua, Audrey, Darren, Nichole and Kris's daughter, Lexi; loving cousin, Pat Galdeen; special friend, Cathy Smead and former husband, Larry.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). The Celebration of Life will begin at 6:00 p.m.
