Charlene M. Frisch, age 81 of Toledo, passed away at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, surrounded by her family on Wednesday, August 22, 2012. She was born on August 6, 1931 to Ralph and Emily (DeShetler) Hohn in Toledo. Charlene was a humble woman who cared deeply for her family; she especially enjoyed celebrating her daughters birthdays by giving the, "birthday bag" gift; pieces she chose from her jewelry box. For over 30 years, the "Tom and Char" duo was well known within the music and nightlife community. Charlene was a self taught musician known for her eccentric hats which accented her personality and style while entertaining. Later in life Charlene developed a passion for acrylic painting and gardening. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, crocheting, feeding the birds and taking many memorable trips to the area casinos.
Left to cherish her memory is her loving husband of 62 years, Thomas P. Frisch; daughters, Carol Ann Howell, Darlene (Eugene) Rasczyk, Karen ( Vincent) Dombrowski, Sharon Frisch and Tim Eriksen , Jennifer Frisch and Daryl Darr; grandchildren, Amy Jo Cole, Brandon Rasczyk, Charann Mosier, Brianne Frobose, Allie Dombrowski, V.J. Dombrowski, Annie Dombrowski and Emma Lee Frisch; two-great-grandsons, Sam and Miles Cole; siblings, Bernadine (Norman) Nowicki, Norma Jean (Tim) Rucki, Madeline Ferris, John (Nadine) Hohn and Ralph (Linda) Hohn. She was preceded in death by her parents.
The family will receive guests on Sunday, August 26, 2012 from Noon – 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home at 5:00 p.m.
