Chalmers Dewey Wright, Jr.

Chalmers Dewey "Duke" Wright, Jr. , age 71, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, March 22, 2011 at Lake Park, Sylvania. He was born on September 17, 1939 to Chalmers Sr. and Sheldon (Hanger) Wright in Orlando, Florida. Duke was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving his country proudly during Vietnam. He was employed with Ford Motor Company as an electrician for 16 years before retiring. Duke enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. He loved photography and religious things. Duke was a very kind hearted, giving man, who will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents. Duke is survived by his loving wife of 10 years, Joann (Petree) Wright; children, Robert (Linda) Wright, Terry (Nick) Mundy, Jullie (Randy) Kelley, Dana (Ray) McElwain, Danise Love and Valentina Love; 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; brother, Ben (Nancy) Cochran; sisters, Cheryl (Clark) Bordner and Laverne (Bill) Brown; and many other family members and dear friends.
The family will receive guests on Sunday from 4 – 6:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Historic Woodland Cemetery, Monroe, MI.
