Cecilia Mears Taylor

Cecilia (Mears) Taylor, age 76, of Toledo, passed away February 24, 2016 at Ebeid Hospice. Celia was born January 20, 1940 in Oxford, England to Reginald and Winifred (Feeley) Mears. She retired as a supervisor from Rinks/Bargain City and also tended bar for many years. Celia was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and enjoyed cooking, gardening, bird watching, and her many travels. She loved her family and was an avid Michigan State fan.

In addition to her parents, Celia was also preceded in death by her loving husband, John Taylor. She is survived by her loving son, James L. (Ruth) Markwood; grandson, Anthony (Nicole) Markwood; future great-grandchild due in July; sister, Kathleen Larsson; brother, Tony Mears; step-children, Greg, Tim, Stacy and Terry; and many step-grandchildren who were very special to her.

The family will receive guests Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home - NW Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

Memorial contributions may be made in Celia's memory to Blessed Sacrament Church or donor's choice.
