Cecil Mcvicker

Cecil E. McVicker "Gigi", age 93, of Temperance, passed away quietly Wednesday, April 19, 2006 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo, surrounded by his family. He was born on November 8, 1912 in Berlin, PA. Cecil spent 44 years of his life as an employee of Doehler Jarvis. After retiring in 1971 he and his wife, Geraldine, spent many winters in Florida where he spent his days fishing and evenings playing euchre. "Gigi" will always be remembered for his warm smile and kind heart.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, their son Carl and 6 brothers and sisters. Cecil is survived by his loving family, daughter: Sharon (John) Zankl, of Toledo; son: Jack (Pat) McVicker, of Dewitt, MI; 6 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and sister: Dolly Pieper.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, April 23, 2006 at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) from 3 – 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m. Prayer Services will begin Monday at 9:15 a.m. in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. in Regina Coeli Parish, 530 Regina Pkwy. Officiating will be Father Jim Auth. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.
