Cathy Lynne Jenkins

June 20, 1956 — October 19, 2020

Cathy Lynne (Foster) Jenkins, 64, passed away on October 19, 2020 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio Toledo Center. Cathy was born June 20, 1956 in Lima, Ohio to Dallas and Maria (Romero) Foster. She was a 1973 graduate of Lima Senior and went on to pursue a career in Advertising.

Cathy was employed at Ad One Inc as an advertising agent for many years but later realized her love for insurance and helping those around her. For the last thirteen years she was employed at Great Lakes Insurance Partners working for and with people she considered family. There was nothing she would not do for her clients, consistently going above and beyond what was expected of her. Whether it was business related or just the simple call to say hello and catch up, everyone was a friend.

Cathy was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her two daughters, Shawna (Ryan) Wasielewski and Tiffany (Tony Bove) Jenkins. Her significant other and loving partner Steve Lauber, and granddaughter, Holland Wasielewski. As well as her grand dogs: Drake, Lucca and Gaya. She is also survived by her sister Giselle (Tom) Denstedt, and brothers Patrick Foster and Marc (Theresa) Foster.

Her greatest achievement in life was her daughters and she called them her little chickadees. To know her was to hear her brag about them or her granddaughter any chance she could get. From showing off countless photos of them or talking about the artistic nature of her youngest Tiffany, her family was everything to her. She wanted to give them the world and she did, including trips to Europe to meet her mothers side of the family. She provided a shoulder for them whenever needed and would drop everything to be by their side for every milestone, no matter how big or small. She always went above and beyond, once making 500 cupcakes in one weekend with her sister for Shawna's wedding. She endured countless hours making handmade gifts from quilts to pottery to scrapbook cookbooks with their family recipes.

Cathy was a very petite woman with a big heart and a bigger appetite for life. She loved cooking, hosting and could throw an epic party. She held a seat on the board as an Associate Council with the Professional Remodelers Organization where she enjoyed planning the golf outings and other events as well as personally organizing regular holiday donation drives for different families. She was a volunteer for Make-A-Wish for many years along with being active in Bunco and CRHP in her earlier adult years. Additionally, she loved gardening and bird watching, with hummingbirds being her favorite, even though she was afraid of them.

She was lucky enough to meet the man of her dreams, Steve Lauber. She thought the world of him and he thought he was the luckiest man alive. You could find the two of them spending the weekends together going on adventures or spending the winter on the beaches in Florida taking in all that life had to offer. He was by her side along with her daughters until the end.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses at 7th floor Flower Hospital for showing unparalleled compassion during this difficult time to both our mother and us. In lieu of flowers the family requests any donations be made to The American Cancer Society in Cathy's name.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday, October 27, 2020 from 3:30 P.M. - 5:30 P.M. at Newcomer Funeral Home, W. Laskey Rd. Toledo (419)473-0300
