Catherine Porter

Catherine "Cathy" Porter, age 60, of Maumee, passed away Saturday, September 23, 2006 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Perrysburg. She was born August 13, 1946 to Leonard and Mary (Ball) Jeziorowski in Toledo, Ohio. Cathy was employed with Rite Aid for several years. She enjoyed knitting blankets for all her family, including a soon-to-arrive great grandchild. Cathy also enjoyed walking and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She had the gift of listening and speaking when she needed. Cathy was a devoted Christian, expressing that when told of her illness was happy that she would soon be joined with her Lord. Peacefully, she died with grace and dignity with her loving husband by her side. Near the end Cathy expressed that her family lived with no regrets and no worries. She will be missed by all that knew her.

In addition to her parents, Catherine was preceded in death by her great nephew, Austin. She is survived by her loving husband of 42 years, Jerry R. Porter; son, Mark Porter and daughter, Laura Lau Porter; grandchildren, Trina Lau; Destin and Mandi Porter and Keith Lau; brothers, Stanley and Ron (Vickie) Jeziorowski and sisters, Deanna (Bruce) Morgan and Donna Perkins; one great grandchild on the way and many dear friends.

The family will receive guests Tuesday from 2-8:00 in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Officiating will be Pastor David Stogsdill. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Maumee, Ohio.
