Catherine L. Horoszewski

Catherine L. "Kitty" Horoszewski, age 85, passed away at home on Saturday, October 5, 2013 where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on December 26, 1927 to Paolo and Mary (Tantenella) LoVecchio in Toledo. Kitty married the love of her life, Walter P. "J.R." Horoszewski, Jr. on September 27, 1947 in Toledo at The Historic Church of St. Patrick. J.R. preceded her in passing in 1989 and Kitty later met Stanley Lissek, who was very important to Kitty and her family.

After 35 years, Kitty retired from Flower Hospital. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, her family will remember all the outfits and designs that she created for special occasions, such as baptismal, First Communion, prom and wedding gowns. She also enjoyed painting, traveling, microwaving and playing bingo with her ladies group, "Bingo Babes." Kitty's family will always remember her for being a loving and supportive, wife, mother, grandmother and dear friend.

In addition to her parents, Kitty was preceded in death by her husband J.R.; infant great-grandson, Tyler Grabowski; infant sister, Francis and special companion, Stanley. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Sharon Peterman and her children, Amber (Marc) Sobecki and Tricia Anaya; Karen Jankowski and her children, Corrie (Jeff) Gerber, Karey (Brian) Grabowski and K.C. (Katti) Jankowski; Skip Horoszewski and his children, Scott (Heather) Horoszewski, Nicole Horoszewski and Daniel Horoszewski; most precious to Kitty were her great-grandchildren, Boston, Chloe, twins Nathan and Zoey, Lucas, Gracie, Dylan, Kenley, Blake, Gavin, Callan, Nickolas and Tyler, whom Kitty never forgot; sisters, Lena Schaub and Dorothy Bain.

The family will receive guests on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 from 2-9:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home at 7:00 p.m.
