Catherine B. Kosmider

Catherine B. "Cathy" Kosmider, age 81, of Toledo, passed away Saturday, February 4, 2023 at Mercy St. Vincent Hospital. She was born on August 4, 1941 to Florian and Clara (Kaemming) Brinkmeier in Bradner, Ohio. Cathy graduated with an Associate's Degree in Business from Stautzenberger College, She worked at Owens Corning for over 40 years before retiring in 2003. Cathy was an avid reader, loved gardening and enjoyed doing yoga. She loved all animals but mostly could be found feeding her squirrels and birds daily. Cathy looked forward to time spent with her daughter and granddaughters; family meant everything to her. Her smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Larry Kosmider; and sister, Hermina Brinkmeier. Left to cherish Cathy's memory are her loving daughter, Vicki Babkiewicz; granddaughters, Margo and Leah Babkiewicz; siblings, Herbert (Sylvia) Brinkmeier and Doris Adams; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Sunday, February 12, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 5:00 p.m.
