Catherine Bain

Catherine M. Bain passed away Monday, December 13, 2010 at Orchard Villa Nursing Home surrounded by her loving children and grandchildren. She was born September 30, 1919 to Patrick and Ellen (Loftus) Casey in Syracuse, New York. Catherine married James Bain on February 10, 1944 in Belleville, Illinois and he preceded her in death on April 18, 1977. She was employed with the former Woolworth's and Dana Corporation as an administrative assistant and she was the office manager for the family business, Jim Bain & Sons Paving Contractors for a number of years. Catherine had a love for all animals; she especially adored her canine companion, Pepper. Catherine was very proud of her Irish heritage and her family will remember her as a kind, spiritual woman who put her family's needs first before her own.

Left to cherish her memory are her children Pete Bain, Michael Bain, Kathy McKinney, Bridget Baxendale, Nancy Bain, Jim (Jackie) Bain, Lucy (Robert) Hyter and Pat (Theresa) Bain; grandchildren, Annmarie, Kelly, Mike, Pat, Scott, Mary Ellen, Lisa, Laurie, Casey, Danielle, Kelli, Alan and Andrea; 19 great-grandchildren; brother, Jack (Mary Lou) Casey of Orchard Lake, MI and cousins, TeeTee Petrivelli and Ann Ruffo both of Syracuse, NY. Preceding her in death are her infant son, Casey Bain; sister, Loretta Dutkiewicz and brother, Thomas Casey.

The family will receive guests Sunday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). The family will also receive guests Monday from 10-11:00 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Parish, 4227 Bellevue Rd. with the Mass of Resurrection to follow at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. P. Martin Donnelly presiding. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the staff at Orchard Villa Nursing Home and Hospice of Northwest Ohio for the diligent care and support they provided to their mother.
