Caryle Lois Nofzinger, of Toledo, passed away on her 85th birthday at Lake Park. Caryle was born February 15, 1930 in Toledo to Alvin and Zeltha (Stone) Kreps. She was employed with the Libbey Glass Company for more than 11 years. In her free time she enjoyed gardening, cooking and caring for her family. She was also a dog lover. Family was always very important to Caryle. In spite of her disabilities, she was always more concerned about the health and well-being of others over her personal struggles.
Her greatest accomplishment was her Christian faith. It gave her the strength and courage to be a Christian witness in her life as she endured physical hardships and trials. As she took her last breath on Earth and her soul departed her body, death had no sting for her and the grave will have no victory over her.
Caryle was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Melvin Nofzinger, son Scott (Joni) Nofzinger, sisters Darla McGinley and Mary (Jim) Greenhoe, brother Lauren Kreps, grandchildren Spencer and Zachary Nofzinger, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the staff at Promedica Hospice and Lake Park who have cared for her over the last 3 1/2 years; as well as the numerous medical personnel who have attended to her needs since 1968.
Funeral services were private according to the families wishes. Interment took place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital or to the charity of the donor's choice in Caryle's memory.
