Carolyn Yvonne Koepke, age 79, of Temperance, MI, formerly of Sylvania, OH, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2007 at the Kingston Care Center. She was born on April 27, 1928 to Clifford and Louise (Kistner) Fairbanks in Toledo. Yvonne was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School in 1946. She was a member of Pilgrim Church where she sang in the choir, played in the bell choir and was on the board of music. Yvonne was a member of the Toledo Choral Society. She was an avid reader and helped out at the church library as well. Yvonne was also a member and past president of the Parkview Hospital Auxiliary. She worked as an LPN for many years. Yvonne was a lifelong supporter of Osteopathic Medicine. She loved nature and animals. She was very interested in her ancestry, as she was a part of the Fairbanks family. Yvonne loved nothing more than spending time with her loving family, she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter Sherila Koepke. Yvonne is survived by her loving children: Charles R. (Mari) Koepke, D.D.S., Richard A. (Beverly) Koepke, D.O., Kara L. (Rick) Minnick and Laura B. (Douglas) Sherer; grandchildren: Dustin (Marisol), Ashley, Drew, Stephanie, Christina, Danielle and Sean; great-granddaughter: Destiny; sister: Sandra Connors; and brother-in-law: George (Helen) Koepke.
The family will receive guests on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 in the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) from 3 – 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will begin Thursday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Larry Cameron. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
