Carolyn L. Roberts-Cole, age 76, or as Carolyn remembers it, "age 29 and holding," passed away at her home on Friday, January 29, 2016 where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 19, 1939 to Richard and Hazel (Savidge) Ritzenthaler in Toledo, Ohio. She was a graduate of DeVilbiss High School and retired from Ford Motor Co. in 2007. Most important to Carolyn was her family; she loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. When she wasn't taking care of her family she enjoyed bowling in various leagues, playing tennis, family game night, trips to the casino and traveling with her late husband, Ed. She was also a member of American Legion, Post #576. One of her family's fondest memories will be her famous homemade chicken noodle soup.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Bob Keeler, Marty Keeler, Pam (Art) Garn, Kimberly Roberts, Tracey Shures, Shelley (Scott) Heuerman, Dawn Roberts and Jeannette (Bob) Dilworth; step-children, Eric Cole, Todd Cole, Leslie (Chris) Crowe and Lori Daly; 21 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sisters, Jackie Ritzenthaler and Diana (Jerry) Mason and brother, Richard (Michelle) Ritzenthaler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lewis "Ed" Cole and infant son, Byron Keeler.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, February 4, 2016 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Her Funeral Service will begin in the funeral home on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment will follow in Toledo Memorial Park.
