Carolyn E. Knott, age 75 of Toledo passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Flower Hospital. She was born January 8, 1937 to Raymond W. and Margaret (Mills) Pugh in Greenback, Tennessee. Carolyn married Richard T. "Dick" Knott, Sr. and they were able to share nearly 50 years together prior to his passing 2011. She worked at Flower Hospital for 19 years in the housekeeping department where she enjoyed working and making many friends. Carolyn was a lifelong member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church and she enjoyed bowling alongside her husband for many years in a couples bowling league in Toledo. Carolyn made many friends over the years; she had a wonderful spirit and was able to make friends with just about anyone she met. Her family will forever hold onto the memories that were created during the holidays when the family would get together and celebrate. In her spare time she enjoyed being outdoors where she could tend to her vegetable garden that she took much pride in, but most importantly Carolyn cared for her family, she always put their needs before her own.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Richard T. "Rick" Knott, Jr. and Michael (Michelle) Knott; twin sister, Evelyn Tilley; brother, Don Pugh; many nieces, nephews and dear family members who were very important to Carolyn. Preceding her in death were her parents and her loving husband, Richard T. "Dick" Knott, Sr.
The family will receive guests Friday from 3-5:00 p.m. and 6-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. (419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin in the funeral home Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.
