Carolyn J. Sutter, age 75, of Toledo, passed away peacefully, Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio, Toledo. She was born on June 8, 1933 to Clarence and Marietta (Miller) Bernhard in Toledo. Carolyn was known as "Nana" to all. She was a longtime caregiver and very patient. Nana enjoyed sewing, she especially enjoyed making dolls. She was also very talented and creative in anything that she did, often enjoying arts & crafts of some sort. Nana loved ballroom dancing and listening to Elvis and Julio. She liked gardening and was an avid shopper.

In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert C. Sutter, Sr.
Nana is survived by her loving children, Robert C. (Sandy) Sutter, Jr., Deborah (Bradley) Lowe, Gregory Sutter, Scot Sutter, Ginny (Matt) Aberl; mother, Marietta Bernhard; 17 grandchildren; siblings, Dick (Eddie Grace) Bernhard, Marilyn (Ron) Lee (her twin sister), Cliff (Maryann) Bernhard, Tiny (Donna) Bernhard, DeDe (Jim) Turski, Judy (Joe) Rogacki and Dave (Linda) Bernhard; special sister-in-law, Cindy (Dan) Valesak; special friends, Marlene and Willy; beloved dog, Molly; and many other relatives and friends.

The family will receive guests on Tuesday from 3 – 7:00 p.m. at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make monetary donations are asked to consider Hospice of Northwest Ohio.

The family would like to give a special thank you too all of the staff at Hospice of Northwest Ohio for all of their loving care and compassion given to Nana and her family through this difficult time.
