Carolyn E. Friend (Pinky Twigg), age 75, of Toledo, passed away on September 23, 2017 and finally joined her husband, Robert in heaven. She was born on December 5, 1941 to the late Lenore and Claude Friend in Brooke County, WV.
Carolyn was a devoted and loving mom. Her family always came first and she cherished time spent with them, especially on the holidays. Carolyn had a beautiful voice and enjoyed karaoke and singing with her sisters at her home. Mom fought a long, hard battle with cancer and never gave up until the very end.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Carol (Patrick) Cothran, Robert (Stephanie) Twigg, Kenneth (Angie) Twigg; special grandson, Jerry (Sara) Locker; grandchildren, Alesia, Anthony, Leanna, Austin, Ransom, Cassadie; great-grandchildren and siblings, Joyce, Catherine, Richard, Phyllis, Jerry. Carolyn was also preceded in death by her siblings, Kenneth and Carla.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, September 28, 2017 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Friday. Burial will take place at Springfield Twp. Cemetery.
