Carolyn Ann Krebs, age 78, of Toledo, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio in Toledo. She was born on November 20, 1935 to Wallace and Emma Adina (Ryall) Ridgley in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She graduated in 1955 from Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, Michigan where she studied to be an LPN. Carolyn was an LPN at various hospitals and long term nursing facilities in Toledo for over 50 years. A few of those facilities were Parkview Hospital, Briarfield and Robinwood Nursing Homes. She later married Earl E. Krebs in 1955.
Carolyn will be remembered as a dynamic person with a big heart, she enjoyed painting, knitting and cross stitch. She created many afghans, knitted baby shoes, baby bibs and many more mementos for her family. In her spare time she enjoyed tending to her lily and rose flower garden that she maintained until her health declined. She was fond of animals and had a warm heart for them, especially feline friends – she gave a wonderful home to many cats over the years. Carolyn also enjoyed camping throughout the United States with her family and many memories were created by this.
One special characteristic that Carolyn's family will always remember was how patriotic she was for her country. She always displayed and hung the American flag proudly on her front porch.
Carolyn's family will cherish all the memories that were created with her from over the years. She will be remembered for a loving and supportive mother, grandmother and dear friend.
