Caroline King, a cherished soul who illuminated the lives of everyone around her, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2025, at the age of 73 in Toledo, Ohio. Born on October 6, 1951, Caroline graced the world with her presence and filled it with joy, warmth, and unconditional love.
A beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, Caroline is survived by her loving children: Marlon and Sparkle Walker, Corrion Walker, Michele Walker, Montia and Thomas Turner, David King and Jaime Wilton; her sister Delia Walker; and 25 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, who all carry a piece of her vibrant spirit within them. Caroline’s family also includes a host of nieces, nephews, and close friends who were like family, all of whom were touched by her remarkable kindness and compassion.
Caroline's career at Promedica Toledo Hospital was a testament to her dedication and love for others. With over 40 years in various roles, she forged numerous lasting friendships, many of which blossomed beyond her retirement into luncheons filled with laughter and memories. Her warmth and commitment to service were evident in every aspect of her life.
A proud graduate of Scott High School in Toledo, Caroline embodied positivity and optimism, qualities that filtered through every interaction. Her spirit was infectious, mirrored in her beautiful smile and extraordinary laughter. Life's challenges never dimmed her light; rather, she embraced each moment and each person with open arms. As a devoted mother and cherished "Mama King," she extended her love not only to her biological children but to many who came to call her “mom.” Her nurturing nature, coupled with her encouraging words and daily messages to family and friends, exemplified the depth of her caring heart.
Caroline's interests were as colorful as her personality. A true lover of life, she found joy in dancing, music, cooking, and playing games. She cherished the time spent with her family and friends, always seeking ways to uplift them, supporting them with an indomitable spirit even during her own trials. Many describe her as a ray of sunshine, someone who always seemed to bring light to dark days with her selflessness and love.
Of all her accomplishments, Caroline took the greatest pride in her spiritual journey. Baptized in 1970, she dedicated over 50 years to being a loyal and faithful servant of Jehovah, advocating for her faith with remarkable zeal. Her legacy of love and devotion will undoubtedly resonate for generations to come.
Caroline is preceded in death by her dear mother, Rose Wraggs; step-father, Carl Wraggs; father, Edward Walker; brothers Michael, Charles, and Edward "Jake" Walker; and sisters Erma Wright, Beverly Golladay, and Novella Walker.
