Caroline Brackette, resident of Perrysburg, OH passed away on April 22, 2024 at age 76. She is survived by her children, Terry (Roxanne) Brackette, Jerry (Trish) Brackette, Kelly (Thomas) Haskell, Kimberly (Rick) McCadney, Caroline M. Brackette, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Carevic, Amanda Brackette; sisters, Bettie (Tom) Beville, Freddie (Barry) James, Aurelia (Charles) Simmons; brothers, Tyrone Ingram, and Carl Ingram. Caroline also leaves behind 23 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews, and friends.
Caroline is preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Brackette; brothers, Raft Ingram, Bradford Ingram, and Richard Ingram; parents, Joseph and Octavia Ingram.
Born July 22, 1947 in Cincinnati, OH. She attended Sumter County Training School in Alabama and worked for many years at Miami Children's Home, Northwest Ohio Developmental Center (NODC), Lott Industries, and Lark Lane, where she retired from in April of 2013, where her dedication to the company was memorialized as a memento in their Activity Room. Caroline received a "Staff Person of the Year" award from the Lucas County Board of Developmental Disabilities in 2010.
Caroline loved watching Columbo, Perry Mason, Matlock, Monk, Forensic Files and Snapped. She loved crafting, always making blankets, stuffed animals, and dolls. Her daughter Amanda swears she had a personal relationship with the CEO of Michaels or JoAnn Fabrics.
Although her children are over forty, they still lovingly call her "Mommy".
Caroline will be laid to rest privately with her husband.
A visitation will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following, at 12:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southwest Chapel at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH 43614.
