Carole A. Harris

Carole A. Harris, 78, of Toledo, Ohio, born on March 8, 1946, passed away peacefully on August 19, 2024. 

Carole was a vibrant spirit who filled every room with joy by her infectious smile and contagious laughter. Known for being the life of the party, she cherished every moment she spent dancing, singing Patsy Cline songs, traveling to her favorite places like Las Vegas, Biloxi, the Caribbean and Mexico, and being surrounded by her family and friends. Carole enjoyed exercising and thrived in her workout classes, bringing energy and enthusiasm to every session along with her favorite; swimming her laps afterwards. She was an avid golfer, passionately participating in the South Toledo Ladies Golf League, holding the Office of League Scorekeeper and honoring her father's memory by competing in the Annual EJ Open, his memorial golf tournament.

Carole shared a love of adventure, happy hours and pressing her luck at the slots, in hopes to win big with her beloved husband, Rich. Together, they created countless memories that will be treasured by their family and friends. A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Carole’s greatest joy came from being surrounded by her family. She never missed a grandchild’s event and was always there to cheer them on with pride. 

Carole is survived by her loving husband Rich; her children Dave (Sue) Burnett, Laura (Craig) Lubinski, and John (JoEllen) Carey; her stepchildren Annie Harris (Nick) Rediger and Sara (Travis) Narewski; her grandchildren Sean (Emily), Nikki (Tim) , Katie, Joseph, Jameson, Elliott, and Jackson; along with her plethora of loving siblings, Sharon Feeley, Lynnie (Tom) Heinemann, Rick (Esther) Johnson, Jeff Johnson, sister-in-law Peggy Johnson and her beloved yellow labrador retriever, Ginger. She was preceded in death by her parents Ed and AnnaMae Johnson, her brother Scott Johnson, and brother-in-law Pat Feeley.

Carole’s legacy is one of love, laughter, and unbreakable family bonds. Her lively spirit and warm heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of Carole’s life will be held on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3655 King Rd., Toledo, Ohio 43617. Visitation will take place from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., followed by a service at 5:00 p.m., where family and friends will gather to honor the beautiful life she lived.
