Carol L. Vance

Carol L. Vance, age 61, of Toledo, passed away Friday, April 7, 2017 at St. Anne's Mercy Hospital with her loving husband by her side. She was born on December 25, 1955 to Louis and Phyllis (Werstler) Strauss in Toledo. She was a 1973 graduate of Woodward High School. Carol worked at St. Vincent Mercy Hospital as an oncology nurse for many years. She also worked in surgery purchasing and in the surgical recovery room. Carol was an avid collector of Raggedy Ann memorabilia. She and her devoted husband loved to travel and take cruises.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Marilyn, Margene, Shirley, Beverly, Linda and Charles; and her furry children, Precious, Jingles and Missy. Carol is survived by her loving husband of almost 35 years, Jim Vance; fur baby, Destiny; brother, Louis (Ellen) Strauss; best friend, Rhea (Paul) Gontarski; and many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

The family will receive guests on Friday, April 21, 2017 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Memorial Services beginning at 7:00 p.m.
