Carol L. Stroud, age 50, of Ottawa Lake, MI, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at Ebeid Hospice Residence surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 8, 1962 to Fred and Betty (Kolter) Bernard in Toledo. Carol was a graduate of Whitmer High School and then went on to St. Vincent Hospital School of Radiologic Technology. She worked as a medical radiographer for 32 years at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center. Carol was a longtime member of St. Catherine's of Siena Catholic Church, enjoyed traveling and was an avid Detroit Red Wings fan. She enjoyed making jewelry, photography and crafts of all kinds. Carol loved nothing more than the time spent with her family, especially at Sand Lake.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Marty Stroud; daughters, Amanda and Alexa Stroud; sisters, Linda (Jeff) Shurtz and Jan (Daryll) Nicholson; and many close friends.
The family will receive guests on Sunday from 2 – 8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Sharing of Memories at 6:00 p.m. and a Scripture Service at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home. A Memorial Mass will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady, Queen of the Most Holy Rosary Cathedral, 2535 Collingwood Blvd., Toledo, OH 43610.
