Carol A. Kamcza

Carol Ann (Sohnly) Kamcza, age 85, of Maumee, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 with her loving family by her side. She was born in Toledo, Ohio on November 28, 1938 to Leo and Eleanor (Rath) Sohnly.

Carol graduated from Libbey High School in 1956. She married Gerald F. Kamcza on October 19, 1957 and they shared 43 years together.

Carol worked as a baker for Maumee City Schools for many years. She loved visiting numerous casinos, playing Bingo, and going on family vacations. She was an avid fan of college basketball, especially the Duke Blue Devils.

Carol is survived by her son, Jeffrey Kamcza; daughters, Julie Dunipace and Denise (Christopher) Waite; grandchildren Randy (Laura) Kamcza, Diane Kamcza, Peter Dunipace, Christopher Waite Il, and Jennifer Waite; great-grandchildren Connor, Hannah, Brayden, Emberly, and Oaklynn.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and her brothers, John and Richard Sohnly.

Friends and family will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel), 4752 Heatherdowns Bivd., Toledo, Ohio on Thursday, August 1, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., with a funeral service to immediately follow at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will be held at Fort Meigs Union Cemetery, Perrysburg, Ohio.
