Carol J. Schaub

Carol J. Schaub, age 79, passed away on December 7, 2015. She was born on September 29, 1936 to the late Ruth and Harold McConoughey in Toledo, Ohio.

Carol worked in childcare for many years and raised the children of several families. The children she cared for were very important to her and still stay in touch to this day. Carol was an avid card player and especially enjoyed Euchre. She enjoyed going to casinos and bowling. Carol knitted and did crafts that she donated to the local children's hospitals. She loved spending time with her family, travelling, camping and going on cruises.

Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Gary (Cindy), David (Ann) and Mark (Robin); granddaughters, Megan and Molly; siblings, Judy (Bill) Hallowell, Betty Haas and Robert McConoughey and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 30 years, Richard H.; brother-in-law, Lester Haas and many beloved cats.

The family will receive guests on Friday, December 11, 2015 from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900). The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Ottawa Hills Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the donor's choice of charity.
