Carol A. Shinaver

Carol A. Shinaver, age 62, of Toledo, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. She was born on Decemeber 31, 1950 to Jack and Esther (Komasinski) McKenzie in Toledo. Carol enjoyed cross stitching and spending time with her family. She "drove" a Peterbuilt truck and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents. Carol is survived by her loving husband of 36 years, Bill Shinaver; daughter, Tami (Dave) Hyter; granddaughters, Brooklyn Ann-Marie and Kara McKenzie; step-children, Cheryl, Bill, Steve and David; brother, Jack (Christine) McKenzie; special friend, Cindy (Terry) Dennis; her dog, Stosh; her cat, Mama; and some special nieces and nephews.

The family will receive guests on Sunday from 2 – 7:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd., Toledo (419-473-0300) with Funeral Services beginning at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Those wishing to make monetary donations are asked to consider the Toledo Humane Society or Odyssey Hospice.

The family would like to give a special thank you to all of the nurses and caregivers at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, 5A Palliative Care; Sylvania Care and Rehabilitation, Salona Unit; and Odyssey Hospice for all of their love and care given to Carol and her family through this difficult time.
