Carmen Martinez

Carmen Martinez, age 71, of Toledo, passed away Tuesday, December 16, 2008 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center. She was born January 3rd, 1937 to Maximo and Consuelo (Sausedo) in Reynosa, Mexico. Carmen was a longtime member of the Stickney Congregation of Jehovah Witness. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and cherished the time she was able to spend with her family and friends.

In addition to her parents who passed away on the same day in 2000, she was preceded in death by her son, Manuel Martinez. Carmen is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Apolonio Martinez; children, Diana (Rick) Barrera; Larry Martinez of TN; Frank (Anna) Martinez; Martin Martinez; Janie Martinez of CO; Michael Martinez; Yolanda Martinez of TX; Rosa (Jorge) Zapata; Maria Elena (David Lemmerbrock) Martinez and Irene (Mike) Collins; 27 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and siblings, Maria Bravo; Rosa Aguilar; Manuel Espinoza; Pepe Espinoza; David Espinoza; Irene Delgado and Israel Espinoza.

The family will receive guests Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300) with funeral services beginning at 6:00 p.m. Officiating will be Brother Ted Hyde.
