In Loving Memory of Carl (Jim) Maurice Veith Jr. (1954-2024)
Carl (Jim) Maurice Veith Jr., of Delta, Ohio, passed away on October 18, 2024 at the age of 70, in the woods doing what he loved most. Whether it was hunting, fishing, or simply spending time outdoors, Jim lived his life with a spirit of adventure, a love for nature, and a heart full of commitment to his family. Known as Jim by most and referred to as Colonel by his fellow huntsmen, Jim was a true character whose legacy will live on.
Jim shared 42 wonderful years of marriage with his devoted wife, Donna. Through every high and low, they stood by each other’s side, caring for one another with unwavering love and dedication. Their bond was a testament to true partnership.
He is survived by his oldest daughter Cammie Tripp (Rodney), along with their three sons: Gabe, Dominic (Saleen), and Damian (Shelbi), as well as a future great-grandson from Damian—who will all carry forward his love for the outdoors and hunting season. His daughter Heather Leathers (Jeremy), along with their beloved fur baby Nala, will cherish Jim’s warmth and humor. His son Carl Veith III (Tiffany), together with Carl’s boys: Jayden, Corbin, and Paxton, will continue to embrace his passion for fishing and football. His youngest son Matt Veith (Marlen), along with their children: Milo and Mason, will also keep alive Jim’s adventurous spirit and early love for baseball.
Jim was always just a phone call away, ready to help. He had a way of making life brighter—both with his fluorescent wardrobe and his infectious personality. He is also survived by his father Carl Sr. (Kathy), as well as his siblings Tina, Tonya, Mike, Chris, Michael and Eric. He now joins his mother Shirley, his sister Kelley, his brother Benny, and his partner in crime, Jim Bricker, in peaceful rest.
Jim’s legacy is one of laughter, love, and an unwavering connection to the great outdoors. Though he has left this world, his spirit will continue to resonate in the hearts of those he touched and, in the stories shared. Rest in peace, Jim—you left us doing what you loved, and you’ll always be with us in our hearts.
