Byron Allen "Barney" McCoy
Byron A. "Barney" McCoy, age 60 of Toledo was resurrected home on resurrection morning, Easter Sunday, April 20, 2003 in Hospice of Northwest Ohio. Barney was born August 24, 1942 to Byron and Susan (Diesert) McCoy in Toledo, Ohio. He was a US Marine Veteran. Barney was employed with the former Toledo Frigid Lines Trucking Co. for 15 years. He never met a stranger, he had a gift for making people feel comfortable and welcome. Barney cherished the time he spent with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Barney was preceded in death by his son; John McCoy. He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years; Arlene (Smith) McCoy, children; Byron Michael (Sandy) McCoy of Columbus, Susan (Harold) Bruce, Sharon (Paul) Grubbs of Gallipolis, OH., and Jeff (Amy) McCoy, 9 grandchildren, aunts; Doris McCoy and Jean Kerns, brother; Thomas McCoy, sisters; Sharon (Don) Opperman, and Lynn (Rick) Burkholder.
The family will receive guests Friday from 2-8:00 p.m. in the Newcomer-Farley Funeral Home, 4150 W. Laskey Rd. (419-473-0300). Funeral Services will begin Saturday at 10:00 a.m. in Monclova Road Baptist Church, 7819 Monclova Rd. Officiating will be Pastor Russ Merrin. Interment will be in Highland Memory Gardens. Memorial Contributions may be made to the church or to Hospice of NW Ohio.
