Burt Bronson, U.S. Army Veteran of Toledo, Ohio passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 3, 2024, at the University of Toledo Medical Center. He was born April 1, 1944, in Toledo, Ohio to Donald and Doris Bronson. In addition to his parents, Burt was preceded in death by his sister Jo Young and brother Bob.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Donna Jean; stepdaughters, Roxanne Smith, Angela (Rian) Forkapa, and Beth (Jeremiah) Gillette; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; sister, Dee (Willard) Taylor; nieces and nephews.
Burt graduated from Springfield High School, class of 1962. He then proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, which took him to several countries overseas. He owned and operated Tracy Market in Northwood, Ohio for many years and enjoyed his customers whom he thought of as friends. In his spare time, Burt enjoyed participating in poker tournaments and attending horse-racing events. He had always loved spending time with his grandkids, taking them on picnics and teaching them how to fish. Burt also loved to joke and have an overall good time. His loving spirit will be missed by all who knew him.
The family will receive guests on Tuesday, May 14, 2024 from 2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Newcomer Funeral Home – Southwest Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo (419-381-1900) with Memorial Services beginning at 3:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
