Bruce A. Johnson

Bruce A. Johnson, age 77, of Sylvania, passed away peacefully Friday, June 17, 2022 at home with his loving wife. He was born on August 8, 1944 to Ivan W. and Rhoda W. Johnson in Binghamton, New York. Bruce graduated from Fishburn Academy, Waynesboro, VA and then from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, OK. Bruce was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during the Vietnam War. He worked in the food service industry for over 40 years until retiring. Bruce was an avid sports fan, especially of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. He loved to read, cook and travel. Bruce was also a history buff and enjoyed photography. Bruce had a great sense of humor and enjoyed spending time with family. His smile, spirit and caring nature will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Left to cherish Bruce's memory are his loving wife of 52 years, June Johnson; son, Mark (Heidi) Johnson; grandchildren, Rosie and Cyril; sister, Joan Kaegi; 2 nieces; and many dear friends.

A memorial service for Bruce will be held on Sunday, July 17 at 1:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home – Northwest Chapel, Toledo (419-473-0300), with Pastor Andy Hill officiating.
