Bruce Ira Bristow, age 87, of Temperance, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Heartland at ProMedica. He was born in Toledo on May 20, 1929 to Clarence and Nellie (Snider) Bristow.
Bruce proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps reserve from June 1947 until June 1949. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Force on November 30, 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1955. He worked at the Toledo Scale Company for over 30 years before working at Teledyne Company. Bruce married the love of his life, Virginia (Wojciewchowski) Bristow on May 20, 1950. In his spare time, Bruce enjoyed boating, a good game of golf and vacationing in Northern Michigan. He was a longtime member of Regina Coeli Church.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 66 years, Virginia; son, David and nephew, Mark (Constance) Bristow. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Bristow.
The family will receive guests on Thursday, March 23, 2017 from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. at Regina Coeli Church, 530 Regina Parkway, Toledo, OH 43612. His Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11:00 a.m. in the church with Fr. John Miller officiating. Interment will be Private on Thursday in Harris-Elmore Union Cemetery in Elmore, Ohio (CR 6 and Twp. Rd. 47).
