Brenda Lee Essig

Brenda Lee Essig, age 59, of Toledo, passed away December 4, 2021 at The Toledo Hospital. She was born June 7, 1962 in Toledo to Robert and Doris (Berndt) Phelps. She was a graduate of Robert S. Rogers High School in 1980 and a Certified Medical Coder with University of Toledo Physicians since 1998. A woman of faith, Brenda was an active member of Bedford Alliance Church who was fearless in her trust for God's plan and a role model to all around her. Brenda is a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many who enjoyed spending time with her family above all else. She enjoyed camping with her family throughout the United States, and boating on Nettle Lake at Camp Diclair. She touched many lives with her generosity and passion for life.

Brenda is survived by her beloved husband of 20 years, Alan W. Essig; children, Amanda Essig, Robert Goodwin, Ashley (Robert) Gill, Jessica Goodwin, Andrea (James) Brott, Chad (Racheal Dyer) Essig, Jay Essig, Wendy (Ramey) Price, Todd (Katie) Essig; Sisters, Carol Sue (William) Butler, Robin (Lester) Eiche; 16 beautiful grandchildren, Cory, Valerie, Abbie, Chad, Lily, Oli, Logan, Alan, Edmond, Brayden, Aiden, Jamie, Arick, Olivia, Brody, Owen, Shawntae, Ramey Jr., Morgan, Maddie; three great-grandchildren, Connor, Chandler, and Hadleigh.

The family will receive guests Sunday, December 12, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.at Newcomer - SW Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd.(419-381-1900). Funeral Services will begin Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Lake Township Cemetery.
