Bonnie F. Maze, affectionately known as "Mema," peacefully left this world on November 22, 2024, at the age of 84, in Perrysburg, Ohio. Born on June 13, 1940, in Lake City, Tennessee, she lived a life rich in love, family, and cherished memories.
Bonnie was well-known for her warm spirit and unwavering honesty; she was never hesitant to tell you what was on her mind. A very smart woman, her remarkable memory ensured that no detail was ever overlooked. Living true to her southern roots, Bonnie always had food at her home. Her living room was a gathering place, where the aroma of coffee lingered, and laughter resonated.
Bonnie's hobbies painted a vivid picture of her joyful life. She found comfort in simple pleasures—playing cards, sipping on Pepsi while enjoying ice cream, and indulging in her favorite vanilla cream cookies. Walks to the park with her dog, Pebbles, and her beloved husband, Denny, brought her immense joy. Bonnie was also fond of music; she reveled in her favorite tunes, and nothing brought her more delight than watching her soap operas and game shows.
As a devoted mother and grandmother, Bonnie's proudest accomplishment was the love she poured into her family. She leaves behind her loving daughter, Dena Walker and husband Kevin, and her beloved son, Fred D. Maze Jr. and his wife Lynnette. Her heart swelled with pride for her grandchildren: John Mark Willey and his wife Anastasia, Megan Walker and her husband Edric, Samantha Maze, Corey Maze and his wife Heather, and Collin Walker, along with her seven great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Bonnie is remembered fondly by her sister, Dorothy Rodgers, her brother, Leonard Garner and his wife Judy, and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Though Bonnie has been reunited with her beloved husband, Denny Maze, who passed away in 2019, and other loved ones including her brother-in-law, Curtis Odell Rodgers, her brother-in-law, Gary Maze, and sister-in-law, Rose Maze, she will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Visitation and funeral services to celebrate Bonnie's enduring spirit will be held on November 27, 2024, at Newcomer Funeral Home, Northwest Toledo. The visitation will begin at 2:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 PM.
Bonnie F. Maze will forever be remembered for her fiery personality, her unfaltering love for her family, and the countless memories that continue to sparkle in the hearts of those she leaves behind. Her legacy will be cherished.
