Bonnie Johnson

Bonnie Johnson was born 03/30/1939 to Betty Jeter and Roscoe Gray in Marion, Arkansas. In her earlier years she meet and married Walter Cable Sr. and from that union came 3 children Walter Jr., DeLois, and Willie Cable.
Bonnie Johnson accepted Christ at an early age and moved to Toledo, Ohio in the early 1970s. She was a lifelong member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church where she served as a Deaconess. While in Toledo she meet and married Eugene Johnson on March 2, 1984. Sister Johnson loved to spend time with family and raised most of her grand and great-grandchildren. She was a foster parent for many years and adopted Allen Cable. Sister Johnson loved fishing, gardening, going to the market, making clothes, cooking-especially baked sweets. She had many jobs throughout her life that she enjoyed. Sister Johnson was on animal lover and raised many animals; her cats and dogs brought her so much joy.
Sister Bonnie Johnson was preceded in death by both parents; sons, Allen cable and Walter Cable Jr; granddaughter, Marlyn Cable and Sadie Shannon; and her best friend, Sandra Hughes. Left to cherish Bonnie's memory is her husband, Eugene Johnson; brother, Jessie Gray; children, Deloris Strickland and Willie Cable; granddaughters, Roshell Edwards, Tamika, Sherese, Tina, and Roneisha Cable, Tamia Spears; grandsons, Timothy, Willie Jr., Wotez, Walter III, William Cable, and Baruti Penerman, James and Dennis; 48 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.

Family will be receiving guests from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo, Ohio 43614 (419 381 1900). A Memorial Service will begin at 3:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Bonnie will be laid to rest at Historic Woodlawn Cemetery.
