Bob Degens

Bob passed away in his sleep December 9, 2024 in his South Toledo home. Bob was many things but most of all he was an avid University of Michigan football fan having season tickets for more than 40 years, which means he died a happy man since his Wolverines just beat the Buckeyes again this year.

Bob is survived by his wife Marsha, who enjoyed 42 years of married life with him. Son Michael Degens and his wife Susan; daughter Wendee Degens; Grandchildren, Haley Degens and Devin Takacs; brother Phil Degens of Sandpoint Idaho and sister Mary Ann (Joe) Bommarito of Pensacola Florida.

As I type this obituary I expect Bob to come up stairs to ask me what I am doing but we all know that is not going to happen. So, in memory of Bob, hug your loved ones a little tighter and make that goodnight kiss a little longer because it may be your last.

Family and friends will be received at the Newcomer Funeral Home (Southwest Chapel) 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd., Toledo on Saturday, December 14, 2024 from 11:00 am-1:00 pm. A service celebrating Bob’s life will immediately follow visitation at 1:00 pm.
