Blondell Bobbitt

Mrs. Blondell Bobbitt (Smith) entered into eternal rest on January 31, 2025, at Mercy Perrysburg Hospital, in Perrysburg, Ohio, at the age of 89. Affectionately known to all as Granny. 

Blondell was born on November 22, 1935, to her late parents, William and Frances smith. A woman of faith, she found Christ at an early age. She was a beautician in the 50’s and 60’s. Most of all, she was a loving mother and grandmother; she loved and adored her grandchildren by assisting and raising them. Blondell loved her stories (Soap Operas) and shopping with her sisters. She also was an avid and excellent cook. 

She will be greatly missed by her sons, Romie Bobbitt III (Butch) and Brenda of Memphis, Tennessee, Kim Bobbitt of Roxboro, North Carolina, Antonio Bobbitt (Tony) of Columbus, Ohio, Gregory Bobbitt (Greg) and Marquita of Toledo, Ohio; daughters, Anita Howard (Jerry) of Toledo, Ohio, Sheila Kirkwood (Craig) of Toledo, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandchild; sisters, Frances (Loretta) Bradsher and Robin Smith, both of Toledo, Ohio. Also, to be missed by her 2 nieces, 3 nephews, and a host of cousins and friends. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Romie Bobbitt Jr.; granddaughter, Jerrica Tyson (Memphis, Tennessee); brothers, Douglas Smith (Sharon, Pennsylvania), William A. Smith (Brown) (Toledo, Ohio); and a brother-in-law, Jerry Bradsher (Roxboro, North Carolina).

Family and friends may gather at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, Ohio 43614, on Monday, February 10, 2025, from 10:00 am - 11:00 am. Blondell’s funeral service will take place at 11:00 am, at the funeral home. Following the funeral service, Blondell will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery.
