Blakley Jean Semer, 4 month old daughter of Zachary and Jennifer (Clark) Semer, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021. She was born September 10, 2020 at St Luke's Hospital with a full head of dark hair that was the envy of her big sister, McKenzie. Blakely quickly became the center of attention in her family, enchanting everyone with her expressive eyes, her beautiful smile and gentle hugs when she was looking over shoulders.
In addition to being a beautiful and happy baby, Blakley was inquisitive from the time she was born, always looking around in amazement, especially if her sister McKenzie was in her sights. She was so determined to find a way to get both hands in her mouth but finally settled with just her thumbs or a few fingers. Blakley looked like her dad but was definitely a "Mommy's girl". There was nothing she loved more than laying on their chest or sitting face-to-face swapping coos and smiles. That smile she gave you made your heart melt. Blakley acquired many cute nicknames from family and was often called Neanut, Bakey-Jean, KiKi, Budger and Butter-Bean. She would smile at each one as if she was showing she loved them all.
Memories of Blakley will be filled with giggles from mommy's tickles, bath-time, watching movies with her sister and staying up past bedtime to enjoy chest time with daddy. Anyone who met her always described a special bond with her. There will never be a day without a thought about Blakley, she is forever in our hearts.
Blakley is survived by her loving parents, Zachary and Jennifer Semer and her proud big sister, Kenzie Girl; grandparents, Richard & Nancy Clark and Wayne & Melissa Semer; aunts and uncles, Nathan Rotter, Mike (Laura) Rotter, Sara (Jerry) Locker, Daniel Clark and Danielle (Scott) McCullough; great grandmothers, Penny Smith and Lois Smith; her "Grand-Grand", Ellen "Owey" Wyman and loving cousins, Jax, Olivia, Ayden, Evan, Aislyn and Elizabeth.
The family will receive guests Wednesday, January 27, 2021 from 2:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Newcomer, West Sylvania Chapel, 3655 King Road (419-392-9500) where funeral services will begin at 7 p.m.
