It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Billy Joe Winfree, who left us on March 26, 2023, at the age of 52. Billy was born on August 1, 1971, in Toledo, Ohio, to his loving parents Joyce and John D. Winfree.
Billy was a graduate of Jesup W. Scott High School class of 1989. He was a hardworking man who dedicated himself to his job. Billy worked for MCO medical college and Ruby Hotdogs, where he made countless friends and left a lasting impression on his colleagues.
Despite his dedication to his work, Billy always made time for his family. He loved his family more than anything in the world, and spending time with them was his greatest joy. Billy was a devoted husband, father, and son, and he will be missed dearly by all who knew him.
In addition to his love for his family, Billy had a passion for cooking. He was always eager to try out new recipes and experiment in the kitchen. His culinary creations were always a hit with his friends and family, and he was always happy to share his love for cooking with others.
Billy was also a talented dancer, and he loved nothing more than moving to the beat of his favorite songs. He had a natural rhythm that always left his friends and family smiling and feeling uplifted.
Billy Joe Winfree was a kind, loving, and generous man who touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace.
Billy was preceded in death by his father John Douglas Winfree. He leaves to cherish his loving memories his children Areonna Marshall (Perkins), Brandon Winfree, Devontae Winfree, Jahlyca Winfree, Andrea Brownlee-Winfree, Amira Winfree, Daivion Winfree, Joyce Winfree and stepson Aireion Tidwell, His grandchildren Christopher Manning Jr., Chr'Shyah Manning, Montrice Gray, Ma'Kyah Lightner, Micah Lightner, Messiah Lightner. His mother Joyce Odoms-Winfree, Brothers Douglas J. Winfree, John Winfree and a host of family members and many, many friends.
A visitation will be held in Billy's honor on Friday, April 14, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. with a sharing of memories immediately following at Newcomer Funeral Home - Southwest Chapel at 4752 Heatherdowns Blvd. Toledo, OH 43614
