Billy James Jefferson

Billy James Jefferson, 71, of Toledo, passed away August 17, 2020 at Cleveland Clinic. Billy was born May 30, 1949 in Detroit to Melrose and Lola (Harvey) Jefferson.
Billy attended Detroit Public Schools and continued his education in culinary school where he excelled. On September 30, 1989 he married the love of his life LouAnna Rose, into this union they had one son, Billy Jr. "BJ" and together they raised four children, Ebone', Keana, Deon'Tajisha "DeDe".
He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed cooking and grilling. Billy was actively involved in the church where he became a Deacon and later an Elder. He treasured the time he spent with children, and impacted many of their lives. Billy had special times and memories with all of his nieces and nephews.
Billy left behind a legacy of putting God first and trusting Him in all things. He had a passion for helping others, especially people struggling with addiction. Billy will be remembered for his strong faith, contagious laugh, and his ability to uplift and inspire others.
He is survived by his wife, LouAnna Jefferson; children, Billy (Arteisia) Jefferson, Jr., Ebone' Rose, Keana Rose, Deon'Tajisha (Vincent) Givens; 18 grandchildren; brothers, Melrose Jr. and Ray Jefferson; sister, Della Steward; and a host of relatives and friends.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Adell Jefferson; sister, Vernell Suber.
The family will receive guests Tuesday, August 25, 2020 from 12:00 pm - 2:30 pm at Abundant Life Ministry, 8971 Lewis Ave, Temperance, MI 48182, where funeral services will begin at 3 p.m.
