Panczner
Beverly May (Schwartz)
1929-2011
Beverly May (Schwartz) Panczner, 81, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2011. Born in Glens Falls, New York on December 29, 1929, the only child of Alexander and Madeline Schwartz, Beverly married her high school sweetheart; James Panczner (deceased), on May 28, 1949. Dedicated wife and mother, Bev, along with her husband, nurtured their five children through routines, traditions, outings, vacations, and life's transitions. Bev served as Cub Scout den leader, Camp Fire Girl group leader, Girl Scout troop leader and participant in many church committees and activities. In midlife, Bev worked briefly at Darlington House, followed by many years as office-manager of the American Scientific Glassblowers Society where she was honored for her services. After her husband passed in 1996, Bev organized a widows' group whose members gathered frequently for camaraderie and excursions.
Beyond her willing servitude, her children delight in remembering Mom's expressive "momisms," her passion for playing the piano, reading, hosting family gatherings, and her special quirks (talking back to the TV, ringing that darn bell to call us home). Outspoken, gentle, stubborn, spontaneous, Mom was a force when she used "that look," yet she was always approachable. She inspired her children and grandchildren to be proud of their heritage.
Surviving are her children; Gary (Leslie) Panczner, Linda Panczner, Debbie (Kent) Krabach, Roger (Dawn) Panczner, and Bonnie (John) Simon; grandchildren Brian (Charlcia) Krabach, Todd (Amber) Krabach, Jeff (Kim) Krabach, Greg (Sheri) Krabach, Ben Panczner, Caitlyn Panczner, Rebecca Brandell, Natalie (Michael) Crummel, Douglas Miller, Darren Ward, and Kevin Ward; along with 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Panczner.
The family will receive guests on Monday from 12 – 8:00 p.m. at Mayfair Plymouth Congregational Christian Church, 5253 Bennett Rd., Toledo and again on Tuesday from 2 – 4:00 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. in the church. The Newcomer Funeral Home (419-473-0300) assisted the family with arrangements.
