Beverly Ann Johnson was born to Charlie and Bernice Simpson on March 1, 1955.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bernice Simpson.
Beverly completed her earthly service to the Lord on February 29, 2024. She leaves a loving husband, Bobby Lewis Johnson, two sons (and daughters-in-love) Bobby Lewis Johnson II (Abigail Sangita) of Oakley, CA and Brennan Johnson (Joy Leah) of Columbus, OH, her four, beautiful grandchildren Zara, Aslan, Raya and Bryson, her father Charles Simpson as well as her siblings Jerome (Dorothy) Simpson, Leon (Doris) Simpson, Celestine (Wesley) Gary, and James (Maria) Simpson, Willie (Shirley) Simpson, Otis Simpson, Lula (Willie) Spruill, and Mary Swoope.
Beverly was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and spent her earlier years surrounded by family and friends. The roots of her relationship with God were established at Holy Trinity Baptist Church and she graduated from John Adams High School. Later she attended Cleveland State University where she met her future husband, Bobby.
On July 7, 1977, Beverly married Bobby L. Johnson and they both moved to Toledo, Ohio. She had Bobby L. Johnson II on February 20th, 1982, and Brennan Leon Johnson on May 29th, 1984.
In Toledo, Beverly's professional life was focused on cooking, she worked at Frisch's Big Boy, White Castle and for many years at the Darlington House Rehab Center. Throughout these years of service, she met several wonderful people who became her lifelong friends.
Their desire for a church home was met when they found Parkwood Seventh-Day Adventist Church in the summer of 1979. Beverly continued her love for singing and eventually began directing the choir. She served at Parkwood as Choir Director and Usher until early 2017 when she helped her husband plant The Fountain Seventh Day Adventist Church.
Beverly was a gifted baker. She especially loved to bake cakes and would give them as gifts them to her neighbors while living on Ranch Dr. as well as baking cakes for celebrations and events for the church. Many of them could not wait until their turn to get a cake from Bev. She also enjoyed baking cookies with her Granddaughter, Zara and her Grandkids-in-love, Amani and Jadon.
Bev loved and is dearly loved by many who had the blessing of knowing her. We will remember Beverly for her encouraging words, willingness to serve and her warm, wonderful hugs. When the trumpet sounds, and we are all caught up to meet Him, look for Bev, she will have a warm heavenly hug for you.
She will be singing and hugging!
Family and Fiends will be received at the Parkwood Seventh-Day Adventist Church, 2200 Parkwood Ave, Toledo, OH on Sunday. March 10, 2024 from 11:00 AM until 12 Noon. A Celebration of Life Service will begin immediately following visitation at 12 Noon.

Psalm 51
10 Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from thy presence; and take not thy holy spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of thy salvation; and uphold me with thy free spirit.
